TOFT ALPACA INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOPS
We offer a half day practical workshop which will introduce you to the basics of husbandry, breeding, training, showing, management and all things alpaca.
Our friendly half day practical Alpaca introductory workshop is tailored to provide you with all the information you will need to begin to define your own alpaca adventure.
If you are interested but undecided about sharing your life with these wonderful creatures then you should consider our practical workshop as a 'taster' which will clarify your aspiration whatever that might be.
Our aim in these workshops is to provide a comprehensive, enjoyable, informative half day workshop where prospective owners can gain confidence and all the knowledge they will need about keeping these magnificent animals. Our goal is to make sure you leave with all your questions answered and a clear idea of how you might tailor your aspiration to enjoy our wonderful lifestyle.
We have been breeding these magnificent creatures for almost 30 years. We started out in 1997 with four pregnant females and had never kept any animal other than our pet dog. We now have 120 pedigree alpacas on farm and have been privileged to be at the forefront of the UK Alpaca Industry since its inception.
We have had the honour of being British Alpaca Society Judges and trainers for the past 20 years and have Judged Alpacas and fleeces in Shows throughout Europe and the UK.
Our learning curve has been a long one and through all the highs and lows over the past thirty years there is we have never regretted a minute of our committment to this fascinating lifestyle.
For us it has been a great adventure and through our practical Alpaca Introductory Workshops we offer you our experience and expertise to you to help you to start your alpaca adventure on a far shorter curve than ours.
We also do good coffee, tea and cake !!!
If you feel you would benefit from our informal 'hands on' half day workshop in all things alpaca then please book early as we restrict numbers to a maximum of 8 to to ensure that all particiipants gain maximum practical benefit.
